One year ago, I was planning my wedding during a pandemic. My Dad’s health had been failing the last few years, so pushing my wedding another year wasn’t an option. I couldn’t even believe my Dad would be there to give me away! My family had been waiting 45 years for this day, so we had to find a way to make this wedding happen. In order to stay within the COVID guidelines that kept changing, we decided to get married in my fiancé’s hometown followed a short reception and then jump on a tour bus for the second half of our reception in Nashville where we live now. So after pushing the date back once, we were now planning receptions in TWO cities!

The biggest challenge was finding the venues that could accommodate the food and drinks for the two drastically different parties. I’m an event planner, so I thought it would be easy to call up some contacts and get everything taken care of without too much stress. It wasn’t. No one was grasping this 15-hour, two-city wedding so they weren’t hearing what I needed to happen to make this crazy idea work. They were trying to fit me into the box of what everyone else was doing. Plus, as soon as you tell people that your event/party is actually a wedding, they up charge you 20%. Yes, I would be wearing a wedding dress for the reception in Nashville, but I shouldn’t be penalized for looking so fancy?

After hours and hours of trying to piece this reception together, I finally found a bartender through a friend of a friend who said she could help create the vision that I had. With the help of a friend who stepped up to be my second-half wedding coordinator for the Nashville reception, we had the perfect celebration. But it was a lot more work than it needed to be.

Then a few months later, I heard about rBAR Mobile Events. If only this mobile events bar had been around last year. Not only do they have decades of experience in the food and beverage industry, but they also listen to what the clients want. What?! Someone will do what the client wants, not what’s easiest for them?! They will help you through the planning process to help you spend less rather up charge you when you’re celebrating the biggest moments in your life. In fact, rBAR doesn’t even need you to have a reason to have a party.
